This history exists because of a small, generous community of Lotus enthusiasts, restorers, and racers who opened their files, their memories, and their cars. The registry and the story assembled here would be far less complete without the documents, photographs, warranty records, and first-hand recollections they contributed. The people below gave materially of their knowledge and their archives.

Mechanic · Registry Ralph Stechow The renowned Lotus mechanic most closely associated with the X180R; managed one of the first registries and shared many documents, photographs, and data.
Author · Registry Kiyoshi Hamai Author of the 1991 Golden Gate Lotus Club article; provided original Lotus Cars Ltd warranty data and early registry records.
Registry Matt Serwacki Created an in-period hand-written paperwork listing all the X180R chassis.
Restorer John Viviani Head Lotus restorer at Barber Vintage Motorsports.
Mechanic George Riggin Mechanic for X180R #9.
LotuSport Team Joe Grassi LotuSport crew chief.
Artist Andrew Buttram Permission to reproduce his X180R watercolor, created in period to celebrate Lotus's success.
Author · Marque Historian Christoph Maeder Internationally published author of Porsche, BMW and Aston Martin marque histories. Insights into the Porsche 964 Turbo S2, its competition history, and the rival factory teams.
Editor Jonathan A. Stein A former editor of Automobile Quarterly and other serious automotive magazines, bringing decades of marque-history editorial experience to the writing and editing of this site’s content.
Author · Research Ryan Snodgrass Internationally known author who researched and wrote much of the content for this site; extensively updated the registry.

Corrections and additions are welcome. This record is a living, shared document, and it improves every time an owner, a mechanic, or a member of the original teams comes forward with new material.
